Details

Arm Wrestle 4 A Popsicle with Katie Peck
Rainbow Trout invites viewers to engage in an arm-wrestling challenge, with the opportunity to win a playfully flavored trout-inspired popsicle if defeated. By participating, individuals will test their arm strength, similar to the effort required in reeling in a fish.

Bridging Borders with Luciana Abait
This performance will center around Abait's Borders Within installation. In it, Abait will strategically incorporate symbolic elements onto designated locations of a map, guided by input from visitors. These symbols serve to represent the journeys and aspirations of immigrants as they navigate borders. By engaging participants in discussions about their backgrounds and dreams, Abait intends to weave their individual narratives into the fabric of her artwork, fostering dialogue and empathy. Through these interactive components, she aims to inspire action and foster understanding, skillfully addressing societal challenges while instilling hope in her audience's engagement.

Shibori Dyeing Drop-In Workshop with Tam Tran + Cottage Courses
Cottage Courses is joining forces with Tam Tran of Lost Wax Studio for an afternoon of Shibori Indigo dyeing. Participants will learn to create different patterns and effects using the oldest known Japanese dyeing technique.

Guests can bring their own lightweight items but there will be items to purchase and use to participate in this activity.

$20 per item.

Sharing is Caring: a group meditation / plant exchange activation by Tiffany Smith
Artist Tiffany Smith will present a brief artist talk about her practice and relationship to holistic healing modalities and plant allies. Participants will then partake in self-guided meditation within the site-specific installation Semi Permanent Space: A Moment of Rest, Smith’s custom designed mediation space that houses a wicker throne chair hand-embellished with healing crystals. Finally, the group will meet on the lawn near the stream with a blanket to lay on and a plant cutting, seeds, or seedlings to share with the group along with information on how to care for the plant.
