Skateboard Camp

Cost

$450

Where

Maxon Mills
37 Furnace Bank Road
Wassaic, NY 12592

When

July 17 to July 21, 2023
9:30 AM to 3:30 PM

Who

Rising 5th–10th graders

Immerse in all things skateboarding with instructors Chris May and Jill Winsby-Fein of Wassaic Boarding School. Skateboarding is a meditative, self-motivated sport based on artistic expression, self-actualization, peer support and collaboration, celebration, humor, and fun. We will not only learn and improve skating skills, but assemble our own boards, learn how to build ramps and boxes, screen print t-shirts, and design and print our own stickers. No previous experience with skateboarding is necessary, but participants will be expected to provide their own helmets, knee pads, boards if you have them (though we will also build our own), and know that they will fall, and might get some bumps and scrapes!

Before the first day of camp:

1) Fill out the registration and payment information below.

2) Read and sign our photo release.

3) Ask your pediatrician to complete this medical form. (Please note that proof of vaccination is required. We will continue to evaluate the COVID-19 risk in our area and refer to CDC guidelines for our camps.)

4) Sign an additional waiver that our Education Coordinator, Jill Winsby-Fein, will send after sign-up.

·  ·  ·

We’re committed to making sure our education programming is accessible to everyone who wants to participate. If the cost of camp presents a significant financial burden, reach out to jill@wassaicproject.org and we'll be happy to offer a full or partial scholarship.

+ The After Party

Revolution is in the air. Lights dim, decorum fades, and chants of “La Beauté Es Dans La Rue” rise. Join us and the Capricorn Dream Sound Machine for a late-night dance party, included with every benefit ticket.
