Art Scouts camps are for our younger creative explorers, rising grades 2 through 5. Scouts will embark on creative projects indoors and outdoors, inspired by the Wassaic Project summer exhibition and their own imaginations. We'll also play games, spend time outside, visit artist studios, and have fun! This year’s Art Scouts will be Adventure Club themed (think Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom). Each student will be an adventurer through the Wassaic backyard, gathering and studying specimens, observing natural phenomena, experimenting with nature-inspired artwork, and creating their own natural history museum style cabinets of curiosities. Explorers should be prepared to make maps, discover treasures, study bugs, plants, and animals, build forts, and get dirty!
· · ·
We’re committed to making sure our education programming is accessible to everyone who wants to participate. If the cost of camp presents a significant financial burden, reach out to jill@wassaicproject.org and we'll be happy to offer a full or partial scholarship.
