Join us for a viewing of Brandon Donahue-Shipp and Jessica Gatlin's projection Deep Breath: by Tithes and Offerings on the side of Maxon Mills!
“We often take breathing for granted, but in the last year, we were often reminded to be grateful for life giving breath. How often did you feel a tightness in your chest, a rush, a gasp, a tension? In those moments, if we could just remember to take a deep breath, a pause. A pause for gratitude. For silence. A moment to reflect, to replenish. Our use of the dieffenbachia plant in this art context refers to the cyclical exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide between plants and animals. We aim to remind the viewer of this relationship, encouraging a deeper connection to the various forms of life around us.” — Tithes and Offerings
