THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS A GOOD DECISION

Maxon Mills

The abstract forms of these mobiles evoke neurological diagrams or maps of social networks, while serving as speculative views of parallel realities. I think of them as “drawings in space”—a three-dimensional extension of My Potential Future Based on Present Circumstances, a series of text-based drawings in which I use flow charts to track possible futures and give physical shape to streams of consciousness. Each branches out from an everyday occurrence into fantastic or abysmal outcomes.
