COMMUNITY DAY & SUMMER EXHIBITION OPENING
SATURDAY, MAY 12TH @ MAXON MILLS, 3pm – late

Celebrate the Wassaic Community with us on Saturday, May 12th! What Cheer? Brigade, an exuberant 19-piece band, will lead a parade featuring community and artist-made floats.Other festivities include field day games, pinata making and breaking, bouncy castles,  the opening of our Summer Exhibition and more! The party will extend into the evening with live music at The Lantern ($10 cover) .** The Lantern will also be serving their famous fried chicken basket which includes coleslaw, fries, and a leg and thigh ($13)**.

**Proceeds go to the Whale Scholarship Fund. The scholarship provides students with funds for their personal education costs of books, travel or housing who have graduated from Webutuck or Dover high schools and are pursuing higher education and vocational opportunities.

**Kids 17 and under are free


We’re currently looking for festival volunteers! Please email jenny@wassaicproject.org if you are interested in volunteering. Volunteers are invited to camp in the Luther Barn field for free and will receive a free t-shirt in exchange for one 2-3 hour shift.


SCHEDULE

2:30PM: Bring your own classic car and community made floats to meet and participate in the parade!
3PM: Parade led by What Cheer? Brigade: a 19-piece brass band, Artist-Made and Education Program Float
4:30PM: Exhibition opens
4:30PM-6PM: Art Nest is open
6PM: Live Music at The Lantern kicks off!
7PM: Mill Closes


Create your wearable float in the Art Nest in May! Then come out and join the parade.
