About the work:
The Mill is both unassuming and majestic. Its most impressive detail is the way it is constructed: it is seven floors tall of stacked wood. In The Details features work that is inspiring equally in how it is made and how well it naturally slips into the architecture and feels like it belongs.
In conversations with each of the artists comprising In The Details, we talked about space, structure, placement and process rather than the social issues raised in each work’s content (issues which are present in many of the works). These artists are incredibly concerned with the construction of each piece, or the construction of the world that surrounds it. This awkward and awe inspiring environment enhances and complements the formal concerns of these equally impressive artists.
